Li Jin Wu, 70, loves to chat while taking strolls throughout the city after his meals. As a child in Fujian, China, Li wanted to be a soldier when he grew up. He was constantly doing physical labor, not having enough time to play the games he wanted, he said, while laughing it off. He immigrated to the United States in 1993, listening to the surge of plaudits from others. “They all said America is so great! Go as soon as possible!” (“他們都說, 美國好棒喔!快去快去!”)

“I wanted to be a soldier, they always fascinated me as a child.”
